SMEs' heterogeneity at the extensive margin and within the intensive margin of trade

In this paper, we contribute to the literature on firm-heterogeneity and trade, by looking not only at the firm-level determinants of trade participation (i.e. extensive margin) but also at differences between firms with different levels of trade intensity (i.e. intensive margin). Further, we compare firms that are born ‘local’ and display different scales of international exposure to firms that are born ‘global’, i.e. access international markets soon after their birth. Intensidad exportadora en firmas Born Global en paises emergentes: evidencia empírica desde la óptica del enfoque Upper Echelons

Este documento analiza las características demográficas y psicologicas de los CEO de firmas born global en America latina como determinantes de la intensidad exportadora mediante una muestra de 12 paises que fueron tomadas del proyecto global entrepreneurship monitor en el año 2017. Como resultado encuentra que la orientación a la innovacion y la proactividad son dos factores psicológicos determinantes. Con respecto a las variables demográficas, la formación y la experiencia en mayor medida, y el genero y la edad en menor medida son determinantes en la construcción del perfil psicológico adecuado para un CEO de una firma born global.

Ecommerce drivers and marketing partnerships in successful export marketing of Finnish born globals

This study examines the utilization of ecommerce and marketing partnerships as part of born global internationalization strategies. The study will combine the existing literature of born global internationalization, export marketing strategies and ecommerce as part of internationalization to form an understanding on how two Finnish health and welfare sector born globals internationalize, and how ecommerce drivers affect their internationalization.
